Latest Citicards Update
I had two readers check in yesterday with multiple approvals from Citi, one for two cards and another got three.
Who knows about these guys? The saga continues.
Us Airways Purchase and Transfer Bonus
The double bonus works well for couples trades.
Suppose I have 50K US miles that I now transfer to Katy for 1 cent per mile, plus .075 excise tax plus $30 processing fee. At the end of the transaction Katy has 100,000 US miles and I have none. Total gain is 50,000 miles.
Now if Katy in turn transfers 50K of her US miles to me,pays the fees and goodies, her account drops back to 50,000 miles and I get my original 50K back plus 50K more.
The gain is 100,000 miles on the two transfers and the cost is slightly over $1100. Not a bad way to pad your accounts at a little over 1 cent per mile.
Here is the link
Note: It won't work for accounts under 10 days old, but who cares. The promo runs til the end of the year.
Gary of the View from the Wing Blog Posts a Fantastic British Airways Credit Card Offer.
The credit is all Gary's for posting this offer and Wes for alerting me.
100,000 Mile Signup Bonus for British Airways Visa, and it Gets Better From There
A couple weeks back I posted the amazing new British Airways Visa proposition - 1.25 miles per dollar but more importantly a free companion award redemption voucher for spending $30,000 on the card in a year.Well, it gets better. Much better.
I don’t usually reply to press release/pitch emails that I get, but I just got in my email box.
The signup bonus on the Chase co-branded British Airways Visa is going to be 100,000 miles: 50,000 BA Miles after first purchase, and 50,000 more miles after spending $2,000 on the card within three months. Wow.
Spend 30,000 miles on the card and you’l go from zero to 137,500 BA miles and have a free companion redemption voucher good for a second person traveling in the same class of service. That’s just incredible. I genuinely don’t remember the last time I was blown away by a credit card offer.
I don’t have a link to the offer yet, though details of the two-for-one voucher are available. Stay tuned!
Good News for Private Mailbox Addresses and the US Mint
Strange title? Not really when you think of all of us buying US Mint coins that are now limited by the $500 per address, per president limit.
Cozy up to the local Private mailbox company that has a physical address then separate box numbers. IE:
Frugal Traveller 123 Main St. Box 101, Anywhere, USA 12345
Frugal Traveller 123 Main St. Box 102, Anywhere, USA 12345
Frugal Traveller 123 Main St. Box 103, Anywhere, USA 12345
Rent box 101, and drop the attendant a box of candy every now and again to keep an eye out for your name on heavy box arrivals.
The cost of the box rental is insignificant in relation to the value of the points and miles.
We love Shelly at our private mailbox store. She keeps putting notes in our box noting the arrival of another heavy box arriving :) :) :)
