The Mint Game Changes Temporarily

Friday afternoon the US Mint removed the Native American coins from their website on the direct shipment page. This time, it was not backordered but calls to the Mint indicate they are sold out.

Rumors are flying as to what happened. Some think the big Disney order bought all the balance (which may be partly true). I don't think the game is over, just changing for the balance of the year.

The coin program is supposedly in effect until 2016. New Native American coin designs are scheduled for next year and my guess is they are sold out of this design. I think the Native American coins will be back next January if not sooner.

The question is will we still be buying them with $0.00 shipping charges. As a taxpayer, one would hope they would smarten up, but remember, I'm talking about our government and they can do some pretty stupid stuff for a very long time. And for those of you ready to take a shot, I mean both Republicans and Democrats.

For now, I'll be ordering Presidential coins from all my addresses :) I'm sure my bank will be more receptive to receiving smaller quanities and coins the public actually wants.
