With the slower times coming on Hilton Head, rental car rates are dropping as well.
Within the next two weeks the rates will be down to under $30 with all taxes for a one day car rental and as such, I can accumulate Delta miles at 1 cent per mile.
It was more fun last year when it was 5000 miles for a one day rental and the 9999 miles deal seems like a dream come true, but there are days that we actually need two cars. Being frugal it is the Mustang convertible and Segway as our current means of transportation.
Weekends seem to offer the best rates and it appears that is Friday Saturday and Sunday only. But at a penny per mile, I'm sure I'll rent a car or two.

PS: Reports are that non medallion members are receiving their miles as well.
Will You Please Consider These American Airlines Miles for the Susan G Komen Cancer Fund
I try not to ask for things from readers other than advice or outcomes, but this time I'll ask you to at least consider this Miles for the Cure plea from the Susan G Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer and American Airlines. You will receive 5 American Airline miles per $ donated.
I know it makes no sense to pay 20 cents per mile for AA miles, but in this case the point is helping others.
I made my donation. Will you consider helping out? LINK
Thanks
Suntrust Debit Card 15K Delta Miles for More Areas than the Southeast States
Another reader email:
Rick,
I applied over the phone for the Suntrust/Delta 15k check card; CSR didn't have any trouble with my MN address. Today the disclosures and signature card arrived with an account number. Couldn't get a Business account though; needed physical address in an offer state (transferred to different call center/office).
Try the deal and report in. If it can be done nationwide, fantastic for everybody.
