San Diego And LaJolla til Tuesday
I forgot what snow looked like til we got to ORD yesterday. Had to wait for our gate to clear and spent the time watching the lines of plows trying to keep up. We had a two hour layover.
Dell in Savannah took care of Katy and I with the op up to First which was greatly appreciated.
Our 10:05 AM non stop to SAN was 70% full and we each had aisle exit rows without the center seats occupied.
We were almost an hour late departingafter the deicing, taxi and waiting for them to reopen the runway after plowing. We made up most ot the time and arrived only 30 minutes late.
On the shuttle ride over to Alamo we chatted with a guy from Oregon that used to be a crabber in Alaska. Nice guy and he was pleased with his $20 Priceline bid for a car until we told him about the $10 Alamo weekend deal. I hope he becomes a follower of the blog. You will save money on travel for the rest of your life.
The 10th is LaJolla. The 11th Katybug meets Shamu and the 12th is San Diego, the Gas Lamp district and maybe a tour of the carrier Midway.
A nice getaway, trying out my new Acer 9" netbook, my new frugal Phllips headphones from Walmart for the 500 mile CO bonus. The Gold Elite free night at the Marriott, two 2-1 dining certs from Paula's email list, the cheapie Alamo car. Plus using two Hotelclub $49 off coupons, it is a really inexpensive getaway.
